Planning Permission Granted for a new Community Hub in Sutton!

Planning Permission has now been granted for a new venue in the heart of Sutton Town Centre!

The project is a partnership between The Really Local Group and Sutton Council aimed at regenerating the town centre by providing an exciting new cultural destination. The project is supported by the government's Future High Streets Fund.

The venue will be created out of the former " Chicago Rock City " bar and " New York New York " night club, both of which closed in 2013, and will be another example of Wren Architecture & Design working in partnership with Really Local Group, in repurposing redundant commercial spaces into community hubs following the completion of Catford Mews, Catford (2019), The Biscuit Factory, Reading (2021) and The Ealing Project (2022). It will feature four cinema screens and a large flexible space with a bar for events, performances and meetings. The frontage to Throwley Road will be activated through the replacement of solid walls for full height glazing and the renovation of the existing terrace.

Work is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2023 and be complete by the end of the year. So watch this space ! :)
