Dominique Hogston/ Architectural Assistant

Dominique Hogston/ Architectural Assistant

 My Role

I joined Wren in October 2018 as a Part II Architectural Assistant.  I predominantly assist the Directors and Senior Architects on Retail and Renovation projects. I work closely with contractors, suppliers and clients.

My Past

I completed my Part II in June 2018 from the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow. I worked on a number of projects here, from editing the school’s annual publication, to assisting Glasgow City Council on the Sauchiehall Street regeneration project.  Previous to this, I worked on a range of small scale projects, such as a luxury retail unit in Marylebone and a number of residential refurbishments across London and the South of England.

Why I work in Architecture and Design

A rather intensive stint in Central America found me participating in building projects with local communities. I really enjoyed the hands on approach to this, working with people in the area, using local materials and understanding the importance of a building adapting to its environment. Pursuing a career in Architecture and Design has developed my knowledge of our built environment and how we can benefit from it. I enjoy its endless possibilities.

What I Love

Most weekends, I’m either visiting galleries or museums. I enjoy listening to live music, travelling and exploring off the beaten track. I enjoy swimming outside and cycling in the summer months, but tend to be found taking pictures wherever I go…mostly of buildings!
